About Lower Garden District
Found between the Mississippi River and St. Charles Avenue, the Lower Garden District is one of the top neighborhoods in New Orleans. It's bound by Jackson Avenue and US-90 and many locals simply refer to it as the LGD.
Magazine Street runs through the center of the neighborhood, which makes it very convenient for those looking to enjoy shopping, dining and entertainment. Some of the city's top boutique and local restaurants are found on Magazine Street, along with plenty of bars.

Some of the most amazing examples of architecture in the city are found within the Lower Garden District. The neighborhood provides plenty of single and double shotgun homes, along with double galleried homes and other home types throughout.
Many of the homes were built around the turn of the century and it's actually uncommon to find a home with off street parking. Residents living here don't typically find parking, but most everything you need is within walking distance. In fact, it's one of the most walkable neighborhoods in the city.
Many of the homes found here are original, while some have been renovated and a few have been rebuilt. Most of the renovated and rebuilt homes have been done to replicate the originals, at least on the outside. Some provide incredible modern luxury on the inside, however.
Along with the single-family homes, the Lower Garden District is home to some condominium buildings.
The neighborhood is also known as one of the most beautiful in all of New Orleans. It's filled with beautiful live oak trees, large mansions and plenty of gardens. Home buyers seek out properties in the Lower Garden District because of the convenience and the beauty it provides.

With Magazine Street running right through the neighborhood, there's plenty to see and do throughout. This street is one of the most popular for shopping, dining and entertainment. Along with the shopping options, Magazine Street in the Lower Garden District provides plenty of great restaurants serving unique cuisine. In addition, the many coffee shops offer sidewalk tables for those looking to enjoy time outside and a cup of coffee.
