Mid-City

About Mid-City

Right in the heart of New Orleans you will discover the Mid-City neighborhood. This area of the city offers plenty of things to do, history and all kinds of beauty. Many believe Mid-City shows off the true spirit of New Orleans.

It's home to its own Mardi Gras parading society called the Krewe of Mid-City. This is the fifth oldest of the Carnival marching organizations in the city.

Mid-City was developed by Albert Baldwin Wood back in 1913. Before he developed this area it was simply swampland that was prone to flooding and mosquitoes.
